How Long Does it Take to Drive From Copenhagen to Oslo?

by mpabst - October 9, 2009

About 7 hours.

Thats how long it takes to drive from Copenhagen to Oslo.

So President Obama will have plenty of time to make remarks at the on Dec. 7 before he and Michelle hop in the Saab (to show solidarity with GM) and head up to the Nobel ceremony to receive the Peace Prize on Dec. 10. GER Google-Mapped it so you don’t have to bother.

Or hit Oslo first then catch the latter half of the conference. Either way.

Maybe the Nobel committee makes its decisions in a vacuum and perhaps they have no idea that theres going to be a climate summit soon.

We find that unlikely given the recognition in the of Obamas role in promoting a more constructive role in meeting the great climatic challenges the world is confronting.

In any case, the expectation that President Obama will now go for at least part of the UN climate talks is enormous as hell already be in Scandinavia,Center for American Progress Andrew Light at Wonk Room.

We second that.

Obamas this morning touched on climate change:

We cannot accept the growing threat posed by climate change, which could forever damage the world that we pass on to our children — sowing conflict and famine; destroying coastlines and emptying cities. And that’s why all nations must now accept their share of responsibility for transforming the way that we use energy.

So we ask again.

Will you be in Copenhagen, President Obama?
