GSR Ventures, an early-stage investor that backs Chinese and North American green technology startups as well as technology pure plays, has closed a new fund with $350 million in investment commitments.

GSR, which has offices in Beijing and Palo Alto, Calif., said its fourth fund was oversubscribed with more than 80 percent of the capital coming from existing investors. One known investor is Horsley Bridge Partners, which also put money in GSR’s three previous funds.

GSR’s green portfolio includes companies like solar PV maker Sierra Solar Power,┬álithium battery maker SEEO or SinoWyde, an energy efficiency company based in Beijing.

We’ve contacted GSR in Palo Alto for more details on the fund and its investors.
